    Livewell Pump-out feature

I was wondering if the 1999 180 Cobra has a livewell pump-out feature. If it's possible can someone explain how to use it? I went fishing today and had an empty livewell full of water and no fish . The extra weight didn’t help in the wind. I figured out how to close the valve before putting the boat in the water but getting the water out had me scratching my head while the boat is in the water.

    I believe you have system-3. http://www.flow-rite.com/marin...enu=1

Try this....put your livewell control lever on empty, once up on plane the water should get sucked out, then switch the lever to Recirculate, which should keep any water from re-entering until you turn the aerator pump on. Don't you have a pumpout feature on the control panel to the right of the driver's seat? If working properly you should be able to just keep the lever on "Empty" which allows water to escape but not re-enter until you turn the aerator pump on. Something is amiss with your valves, consider re-placing them.

If you don't have the pumpout feature it's fairly easy to add, need to change your spray heads and rework a little plumbing, does require an outlet for each live well. Check out flowrites web page.

You are correct...I have the system-3 config. On the panel I have aerator 1 and 2. Aerator 1 appeares to recirculate the water if the switch is on recirc. Aerator 2 I think sucks fresh water in. Something seems wrong hummm. If the switch is on empty or auto, water will enter the livewell without any pumps on. I will take your advice and check the valve system in case in needs to be replaced.

I guess for now I will empty the water once up on plane. That you for that tip!

About how much does a new vavle cost and where can I pick up the same brand?

Thank you very much for your help.

Orlando....Go back to the Flow-Rite website and click on "Livewell Builder's Guide" and then click on system 3 and it will show you what you need if you're going to replace the valves (which it sounds like you should). You can order what you need right from Flow-Rite. Apparently you don't have the livewell pumpout feature because if you did it would be the 4th turn knob down the right hand side of the control panel.
