Help with identification of my Champion.

Bought my first Champion. I not sure about What it is now. 1997 It measures 18' 6" and rated for up to a 175 HP. But the Title says it is a 191 DC. Any Ideas? Thank you.

its either a 186 or a 187 not sure but someone will be along shortly. Great looking boat by the way, looks really clean/sharp!! My brother in law has the same hull/ engine combo and he just loves it!!

Re: Help with identification of my Champion. (drodgers191dc)

    Sure looks like a 186. I owned a 1997 186 for ten years. I think the 191 was rated for a 200, the 186 was rated for 175.

In 1998 Champion moved the consoles forward a few inches on the 186....I think to help with handling....That boat (1997 186) will flat out fly with incredible bow lift. I had a 150 FastStrike with a 5.5" CMC plate running a 25 Renegade worked by DAH @ 3.5" below the pad. Would turn 5650-5700rpm

The nicest, best riding, fastest 18' boat with a 150/175 I've ever been around.

I went from the '97 186 to a '06 198. Has taken a long time to get used to this 198. Not bad NOW that I've fooled with it for 5 years. Still the 186 will run circles around the 198 and will give it all that it can handle in a flat out run 150/175 vs 225.

Nice boat, I know you will enjoy it. The 186 I had loved a 4 blade.

    186. That color combo is very similar to my 97 202.

Thank you all for answering. But why would my title say 191 instead of 186?

The rear deck looks like a 186, the 191 has a different layout of the compartments I think. The 175 rating says it's a 186 also.

exactly like my 96 186 w/ 175 efi except for colors and you will love it. my efi blew so i went pro xs. if coast guard rating plate inside boat says 175hp you have 186. easy to give wrong info at dmv on boats. you will love it.

Back deck and seats look identical to my 95 186. You picked a beauty regardless of what model Champ it is

As I look at the rear deck lay out, it is definitely a 186, the 191 had larger storage compartments next to the live wells. The 186 has small coolers back there. A cooler under the middle seat and a step up cooler.

It is what it is. Very sharp boat. I love those darker colors.

If it's a 186, I've owned one and will tell you that, you have one of Champion's Finest.

I just want to say thanks to all of you for the input. And thank you for the complements on my boat. I love my boat. Also want to say this is an awesome board, I haven't been a member long, but I have leaned a lot about my boat just by reading the different boards. Once again Thank you.
