    1990 Champion Price?

A friend who is in the process of buying my boat wants to know what his old boat is worth. All paper work says it is a 1990 but the hull length is 19 ft. Possibly a 1991 hull? It has a rebuilt(2008) 1990 Evinrude XP 150. Boat is in good shape with some carpet and seat wear. What do you think he can get for it? He checked the NADA site but got a very low number. Just wanted a few opinions.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Re: 1990 Champion Price? (GITBIT)

In 1990, they made a 176 (150 rated), a 184 (175 rated) and a 201 (all V6s). In 1992 (I don't have the 1991 brochure), they also made a 190 rated for up to 200. If you can get the serial number on the hull, I can tell you which year it was made and which model year, but not model number. If he's runnning a 150, it should be on a 176 or 184. Each of these model numbers equate to actual length. For ex..184=18'4".

Sadly, most folks think their boats are worth more than actual.

If it really is 19', it would be a 190 from that era. I saw a clean 190 yesterday with a 150 Yamaha. It ran just fine.

I don't know about CA, but around here 19' Champions for sale are much rarer than any other model. I believe that most people that buy 19' Champions find them to be very hard to beat for all around performance. They never last for sale here. I know, because I've been looking for a deal on one for 2 years now.

    Good luck with the sale.

    Re: 1990 Champion Price? (GITBIT)

It was built in May of 1990 and is a 1990 year model. The brochures say a 190 is 19' even. As said earlier, it is rated for up to 200, but should be very nice with the 150. I need to re-check the 1990 brochure. They do not show a 190, but that often happens since they made the brochures so early for the boat shows.

Hope all goes smoothly with the sales for you and your buddy!

Congratulations and glad you joined us!!!!!

As said above, Dean's made your original seats. Another BBC sponsor is Llebroc, who makes seats for the newer Champs. These two, plus the Boat Seat Store, are all BBC sponsors and should be able to get you exactly what you want. Check the sponsors forum for their web sites/contact info.
