new guy- big project added pics

New here, bought a project boat last summer and just getting around to starting it
its an 84 20ft champ. It had a blown 200 black max on the back that is trash so i took it off and am lookin for a MERC 2.5 EFI for a replacement. I have completely stripped the boat of all carpet wireing, gauges, etc. it is now just a hull. I have sanded the top cap and all of the interior . no carpet giong back in, It will be some type of spray in liner. The front deck will be reconfigured to go all the way back to the consoles instead of the two seats infront of the consoles. should give me just shy of an acre to fish off of Hope to have it on the water by spring if I can find a motor. .

This is shortly after i bought it had to work out of town for about 9 months but back home and in full resto mode will add pics as i go and will probably have plenty o questions. Paint scheme whrn done will be white/black/ grey

Good luck and welcome aboard! From the looks of it, since ya'll aren't getting any rain you'll have time to work on it, LOL.

Good luck. There are several other projects here in various stages of restoration. Take lots of pics of the entire process.

    I think I would look for a 3.0 L motor. Good luck.

Do you have any pics of the seats that were in front of the consoles? Sounds like it may be the old style Fish n Ski.

    I'd have to put a 3.0 or 3.1 on her. She'd fly....

I believe its called a Bass & Ski. Here is some pics of my boat. It's very similar. Mine is a 1985 176 Bass & Ski

Yep....that's pretty much what I figured... I had a 1990 176 FnS. I took the cushioned lids out and had Champion make me new carpeted lids. Since it was a Mtn Home boat, they had all the specs. Unfortunately, none remain, other than the basics in the old brochures I have.

The 1985 brochure does not show any boats called Bass n Ski, spinner... It shows only Super Vs, Tournaments or Fish n Skis.. Tho sometimes they added/changed model names after the brochures came out...
