No, your buddy does not need to wear the apparel for you to qualify. Only the owner does....

In a nut shell, the Diamond Program is where you sign up and pay a small fee each year and if you win a tourney with 60 or more boats and you wear the Champ Logo(specific size letters and cap) then Champ gives you money.

Dick, go over to the Champion Boat sight, at the top there will be the Diamond Program highlight, click on it. It will give you a better understanding of just how it works.
