    28 Lightning ET

Has anyone one had any success in running the Lighting ET prop as tournament loaded prop on a 202 Blazer with a 250 XS? In test running this prop, the boat handles great, hole shot is good and the mid range punch is too good to be true. I am playing with the set up for top speed due to being all over the limiter around 78 mph. Normally run a 28 Trophy and have no prolem with this speed. Going to lower the jack plate to see if this helps. Just afraid when the boat get loaded the performance will get crappy.

Usually you have to go up 2 inches in pitch from a over and through to a over the hub prop. In my experiences all the over hub props slip too much with a load on them to suit me. I ran them and just accepted the slip with a load but when I found an over and through hubed prop that was right it out performed the over hubs in every catagory except topend but was always with in a mph of the over hubs with a load so the trade off was worth it to me. You will never beat the speed of an over the hub prop. A little slip is always faster above 80 mph.

That is not a good prop for a tourney load. Try a 27 TXP 4 blade.

    Re: 28 Lightning ET (Rebel1)

Thanks for the feedback Beezer and Rebel1....i knew it was too good to be true...Use to be a Gambler owner and could never run one of these props. I jumped at the chance when one of my friends who runs an Ally let me borrow it..Rebel1, do you run a 27 on the 300 Yami??? I have a 27 Tempest that I have ran on it but like the four blade Trophy better.. How about a Hydromotive Quad IV 27??? Better than the TXP??

I run a 29 & 30 ASX on my rig. The 4 blade TXP's are really good on the Merc powered 202's and a 27 TXP 4 blade will be just right for your rig.

Chad, its a 2009 , 202 Blazer with a 250 Pro XS torquemaster lower... Was running the trophy approx 1" under the pad.

Probably won't work good. If you had a sportsmaster set 1.5 above the pad, it'll work.
