The VRO pump will (depends on which pump) have 3 or 4 wires from the small end that run to a plug, disconnect the plug.
You did find the wires to the reservoir sender?
i am asking this for a buddy of mine... i believe he said he removed the wires that went from the engine to the top of the resevoir.. but when we take his boat out the red oil light and the alarm goes off about a minute after take off, lasts about 30 seconds or so then shuts off... it just gets annoying and have a feeling he didn't unhook everything correctly
What year is this 70, I will need the model number.
You are talking about red lights this must have System Check?
it is a 96 johnson, not sure of model number yet(will try and get it) the boat is a stratos 258 i believe. the red light is on the dash it says oil on it..
That should have be part of the oil tank wiring harness that goes back to the motor and connects in to the engine's harness, you should have also disconnected the VRO harness and plugged the oil line with the yellow plug. CM![]()
