89 xtb-21 setup question

Lee have you ever set up a xtb-21 with small engine,Suzuki 115.Boat came with 2 Suzuki props,13x19 aluminum,13x21 stainless.Prop shaft to pad is 3 1/2 inches measured 4 inches back from the lip.Cmc manual 6 inch jp,82# motor guide,2 batteries in front of fuel tank,no charger.With the 19 it jumps right up but as soon as the it lays down it starts to slip,you have to back off a lil ,then go with it,then it pulls right to the limiter.I have marked the hub and prop and have checked it to see if it slips and it doesnt.i know the prop is to small,engine too, but i cant figure out why it slips being buried in the water at 3 1/2 inches.It tops out at 45 gps with 2 in the boat @5500.The 21 prop has a spun hub and is a lil dinged up.Do i need to get it fixed and try it or do you recomend another prop?

I have not set up an XTB with anything less than a 200. The reason your alum. prop slips is because it's sucking air from the surface when the boat lays over, this is typical of an alum. prop on most any Bass Boat, the prop doesn't have enough rake angle and was not intended to run as high as you are running it. 45 mph is impressive when you see most 16 footers w/115's running in that range but I would think you could run closer to 50-55 mph with the correct prop, e-mail me a picture of your ss prop so I can see if it's the right design & worth rebuilding.
