    Questions from a gambler guy....

Here is the deal: I have had two gamblers and am quite happy with them. I have a baby on the way and a wife that wants a good for nothing runabout. I have seen a few Allisons with 4 seats and think that she would love them. I don't want to lose my fishability, I do understand I will lose deck space from my 2200 no mater what. My question is what are the pros and cons of a 4 seat boat like the ones I have seen?Is this a mid-80's boat? I like to go as fast as possible but also price is a factor so it will have to be used. Thanks for any help.

With the xb 2003 there is actually seating for 5 if you choose. 2 buckets up front and a bench in the back. I have fished 2 men on the front deck with no problems. My boat has a lil 200xs and will run mid 80's loaded to fish with full tourney load and 2 people. Really need to ride in one. Granted it won't be the platform of the Gambler, but definetly sufficient.

Also the wind protection is great for the family in a 2003.....
    80 mph feels like 30mph

Well just showed the wife pics of a Bassport and she loves it. What are these things going for used (if you can find them)? I don't want to go much older than a 2000. I may buy one in the spring depending on selling the Gambler. Keep the info coming I love my gambler but this is the only boat with extra seating I can see myself in.

    JW,

    I went from a 209 Gambler/225 pro max to a 2003/225pro max then put a 280 on in place of the 225.
The first thing I missed was that big front deck and the rod storage!! I was bad to take about two steps back when setting the hook with a Carolina rig or when fishing a crank bait... Not a good idea on a 2003.

One reason for my first Allison was the seats.... My family did a lot of water skiing. So we would put the bench seat in and turn the front passenger seat around to face the back. My fist love is fishing and I fish a lot of tournaments. So come "T" time
the bench came out and the passanger seat went behind me. I have fished two off the front deck of the 2003 but do not like to. Especially if we are throwing crank baits.

There was a trade off in going from the Gambler to the 2003 as far as fishability. but I never did regret doing it. I sold my old Gambler to my fishing partner and we will fish out of it some times just to keep the competition guessing. Then about the time some of the guys figure out who it is we will trade back. Or if it's a site fishing tournament or there is a good shallow flipping bite. We will fish the Gambler because of the front deck.

But now I have a 21Prosport and would not trade it for any Bass boat!!!

The BasSport didn't come out until 2003- I would guess there are very few used ones available- however, there is a new BasSport Pro out(only a two seater) that some of the original BasSport owners will be lookin to buy, so there may be a few showing up. The boats sell for the same prices other top name brands go for- a new one loaded with a 250xs will be well into the 50s. They hold their resale values pretty well too.

I have an XB21 ProSport/250xs. Incredible combination of performance and fishability.

the back deck is bigger on a 2003xb than your gambler altho the front may be smaller. I have a 5 seater that will go over 100 that is for sale
