06 Silverado brake issues! E Break.

Replaced my pads and shoes on my 06 Silverado Crew cab the other day and now my E break doesnt work . Also seems like the back breaks arent doing much either?? Ive bleed them and nada. Also getting anoying squeaks from them now?? UGHHH! Me and my break troubles. lol. When I bought the truck little less than a year ago I also purchased the bumper to bumper extended GM warranty... would this be covered? The faulty E break? Any help!!

    Thanks Chris !!

Are your cables moving in the back? If you crawl under the truck when somebody pushes down on the parking brake you should see the cable ends move...then you'll know whether it's a cable or brake assembly issue.

Did it work before you replaced the brakes? If yes, go back and check your work.

Yes it worked before I did them,,, Ive read on the net this is a problem in the GM Trucks. I can hear the back breaks engaging when I apply the breaks just dont think they are fully working.

Would this be covered under my warranty since this is a known issue?

If they were rear drums (assuming so since you said you replaced pads and shoes) did you adjust the rear brakes after replacing the shoes?

On the older trucks you had to put it in reverse and back up quickly then slam on the brakes... After a couple times they would be adjusted correctly. I'm not sure if the new trucks adjust the same way but it would be simple to try.

There is a star wheel on the bar that runs between the shoes on the bottom. The backing up thing (self adjuster) will work but you need to do an initial adjustment first. Here's a link that may help you:
