    92 RUDE 150 question

I haven't had this motor but for about 6 months, in that time the beeper system on the motor has stopped working. Initially the motor would beep when the key was turned over, now it doesnt. My question is, with the beeper not working on the key flip, its probably not going to work if the motor was to overheat or be low on oil either right? Is there anything I can check for to fix the beeper? Also, I have a aftermarket VRO system on this boat but it just doesnt seem to use enough oil for my liking. I have run the boat for six months (at least once every two weeks, with a few 3-4 fishing trips in there) and still havent went through the first tank of oil. It uses some b/c I watch it religiously, just worried its not using enough, how can I check? Thanks guys,

With the key on you can touch any of the tan wires to ground on the block and the alarm will sound. If it doesn't replace the horn. As far as aftermarket VRO goes you get what you pay for. I'd add some oil to the fuel just to be safe.

    Hey Kyle,

If you ever get out this way or want to go fishin' let me know. I am up for it anytime. Plus with two people it is alot easier on the wallet to split gas and such. Not sure what waters you fish, mostly Nolin, Rough, Barren, Taylorsville, Patoka, and the River for me. And if I have a little extra money I'll make the trip to the LBL. But let me know, you got my contact info. See ya

I have thought about adding just to be safe. If I add and the motor smokes then its got a little too much correct? Of course I know a little too much is not a bad thing. Also, these tan wires you speak of, are they close to the horn on the engine and if so, where is the horn on the motor? Thanks

    What is a VRO? I have a 92 70HP.

If you hear banjos upstream, turn and paddle in the opposite direction.

The tan wires are on the cylinder heads. The horn is near or in the control box depending on your type of controls.

The VRO stands for Variable Ratio Oiling and yes you have one on your motor unless the oil line has been disabled and you do a pre-mix.
