Went to cast my rattle trap and SNAP! It broke off about 8" on the end. There is a warranty on them right? I'm planning on taking it back to bass pro in the morning. Ain't had it a year yet. Had a carrot stix do that b4 too but bass pro honored it and let me replace.
Unless you paid extra for "the plan" they will most likely tell you to ship it back to duckett along with 50 bucks to get a replacement. My partner broke 1 last week that he bought at bps.
What is their warranty like? A rod usually won't break at the tip unless there has been damage in the area first. Good luck, man!
Probably not covered under warranty Justin. Give me the broke one and I will stick a new tip on it. You just buy a new one...

The thing is that it was working fine and I had caught numerous fish on it then i went to cast again and it just broke
The warranty on Duckett rods is within one year they will replace it for free if it is a manufacturers defect. After the first year you have to send it in to Duckett but you have a total of 20 years on the warranty
How do you know if it's manufacture defect? They can say what they want and you have to do it.

The same can be said of the fisherman. Rod companies probably get damaged rods back all the time from anglers insisting its a manufacturing defect but forgot about closing it in the locker hatch while putting it away the trip before.
Bass Pro might not even think twice about it, so you should be good.

no, no, no...its not gonna be covered...
Im telling ya just buy a new one and don't waste YOUR time with trying to get it replaced. Just give it to me... I will handle it from here.
I broke one last year. Took it back to the store and walked out with a new one. The only thing I know as of now they will not cover is the eye's popping off of them. They will send you a new eye but you have to pay to have it put on.
i broke mine, and i called them and asked what I should do. They said cut the 4 inch section that has all the rod info on it, and put it in an envelope with a check for 15 bucks. I did, and had a new rod in two weeks. Great deal right there, I was thoroughly impressed with the company and customer service.
