    Just repowered with a 2006 150 ETEC

Anyone else out there running 150 ETEC .... I switched out a '99 150hp Ficht on my 273 Stratos.... Kept my 23p 4-blade renegade prop....... using the same controls (teleflex steering and hand control throttle/gear lever --couldn't afford hotfoot and hyd steering and really didn't want to put more $$ in my boat)......... I did have C & O Marine, White Bluff, TN (great bunch of folks by the way) to upgrade my jackplate from the old T&H basic model to a Slidemaster (thought it would be easier to raise/lower motor than my old T&H which had the dinosaur 2 bolt/nuts, one on each side of jackplate --- I never ever got those the same height when I tried to adjust my prop/pad height )...... Only have one hour on the new ETEC and know what they say about no break-in but being old school, still going to do a slow break in for the first 10-hour ....... Many folks told me to just get a new boat and motor but couldn't afford to do that with "Dave Ramsey's" methodology.... Besides, my '99 273 still looks good and has been rigged with new TM, Electronics, and blacklight jack plugs ........ Hope to hear from some of you 150 Etec owners...... PS --- I was a die-hard Ficht fan (my 150 Ficht had 286 hours on it and not one single problem); thank the Lord, she never left me stranded, but don't think I never thought about it on some of those long night runs on Center Hill and Dale Hollow with all the horror Ficht stories having been told--- it gets dark on those lakes with no moon...... Tight lines, Dover

Check your serial number, if it is below 5167082 see your dealer's service manager to install the software revision #92343 if it hasn't already been done. If they did it, there should be a black magic market dot on the upper right corner of the yellow sticker on the EMM, as long as they followed directions in the service bulletin.

    Hello Dover,

Please give us country bozys a comparison between the two 150 engines.
For me, I would like to know if the E-tec's 150 hp is stronger if any at all than the Ficht's 150 hp, then you can let us know about fuel & oil usage.

Patiently waiting & Thank you ever so much, in advance.

    Regards,

If you can't run with the big dogs, just stay on the porch.
