90 ETCH TRIM & TILT PROBLEM

I HAVE AN 06 90 ETCH (E90DPLSDA 05143352) WHEN I TRY TO TRIM MOTOR OUT AT SPEED IT WILL TILT ALL THE WAY UP IF I DON'T GET OFF THE BUTTON. ALL THE OTHER MOTORS I HAVE HAD WOULD ONLY TRIM SO FAR AND THEN STOP WITHOUT PULLING PROP OUT OOF THE WATER. AM I BEHIND THE TIMES? THE DEALER SAID THAT IS THE WAY THE NEW MOTORS WORK.

Your motor has the new one-piece trim-tilt unit. Just like the smaller carbed motors and some other makes, the single ram trims and tilts all the way up.

Be advised that this unit also uses a special biodegradable trim oil that is different and cannot be mixed with ordinary hydraulic oil.

Hmm ,My etec 115 also has the single cylinder and under power the trim height will max out and stop at higher RPM's. Low rpms it will tilt all the way up.

i just got a 90hp etec and it stops trimming up before the prop comes out at speed.and it will trim up a lot higher when not running at high speed.
