    Lake Geode. Tuesday May 5

Couldn't resist. Weather was perfect so I headed down after work. Water was stained for Geode, about 2 feet visibility. Water temps were 65 to 67 surface temp which really surprised me . Thought it would be a lot colder. Took me a while to find any fish concentrated but I found a good group towards nitefall. Most fish came shallow among weedlines on the southern end of the lake. Bluegil colored shallow diver Bandit did the trick. Caught a few others on sexy shad and a couple on jerkbait. Nothing on plastic but I didn't throw a lot of it. Was nice to get out and catch a few though. Nothing big (as usual for Geode anymore ) but they did put up some nice aerobatic fights!

Cool. Glad you got out. I'm not sure where Geode is, but on pool 13 the water temp is in the 70's and alot of fish are postspawn already. Still fish on beds, but I caught several 2 days ago that were spawned out.

I have not caught one fish that has been spawned out. We caught 25 keepers today from south end of the pool to Millers. I have been told this by a couple other guys but I have not ran into it yet.
Going out in the morning again, hope to have as good or a better day.

I hate to steal this thread from what it was, but I missed alot of fish as well and I believe they were on beds and just bumping my swimjig as it went by. I also caught several on a spinnerbait that were hooked on the outside of the mouth which makes me think they to were just slapping at the bait. So I think its kind of a toss up right now. I think there is alot of fish on beds, but I've also heard a couple guys say they were spawned out. Adam crigger, claimes alot of the fish they caught last weekend were spawned out as well.

Good luck in the morning. I'm still trying to kill a dang turkey!! Worst year ever for me. They just aren't cooperating. Fri is definately a fishing day.

A couple of guys were putting in at the same time I was I heard them say the water temp was 67. Thought they were smokin' crack. Turned on my electronics and sure enough, 67. nearly 20 degrees warmer than what I fished last weekend.

I'm not going to go into detail but everything we did Thursday and the numbers we caught makes me believe different. Good luck with the Turkey, I got mine early with my bow.

So I take it that means you did good on thurs? I went to spring lake as well thurs and caught a ton of fish. Nothing big, but I spent the whole day on a mission trying to find new spots and I pretty much did. But like I said nothing big. biggest maybe 3lbs but we caught about 10 under the limit and probably 20 over. including about 6 bigdogfish all on a karulures vibrashock.

Nope I don't think you did. 30 seems like a ton when you don't fish real long and you catch them all in about a 2 hour period. Most of the 4 hrs I was there was spent idling around finding new water

I put in at bulgers this morning. It was slow, I caught a few and tried some new spots. Water is dropping pretty good. Especially on the north end of 14. Dropped probably 2-2.5ft the last 4 days or so. All the fish we caught today were one a bigbite bait crawtube flipped on the edge of the pads. I got bit off several times wich really sucked!!
