Squeaking noise update... 225 Yamaha SHO

Took it to the dealer last week and spoke with them today.... They stated they spoke with Yamaha and there is a few cases but nothing to worry about! Run the Snot out of it and that is what I plan to do...I have the 3 year warranty and plan to purchase the other two for piece of mind. My Dealer Nameoki Marine Village has been awesome and I feel they will take care of it if there is a problem!

It only squeaks after a long run at WOT or near it and then only for a min or two????

I guess we will see how well Yamaha stands behind their product if something does let go.....But so far the Engine has been great

UPDATE:

Took the boat into the dealer and they hooked it up to the computer and nothing wrong.. Stated they could not duplicate noise and phoned Yamaha support...They stated to run the engine and if there was a drop in performance to bring it in... Took the boat out last weekend and ran WOT all day..NO PROBLEMS AND NO SQUEAK...... We will see what this weekend brings!

My engine has the same occasional squeak (no performance issues). I talked to Yamaha CS and they suggested using a liberal amount of teflon lubricant on the drive shaft and letting it run down and soak the bushing, which may be the cause of the squeak. They said this will tell you if its the bushing, and if it is then the bushing can be replaced and everything greased at the next service. If its not that its possible it may be a dry bearing, which can also be replaced.

If you want more info let me know and I will gladly call and discuss the details of my conversation with Yamaha, they were very helpful.
