I got one from West Marine. Its the 90gph and its a Sierra for 20.00.The dealer wants 40.00 for the yamaha. Its just a filter,I doubt if yamaha makes it themselves.

It's like $19 at my dealer. I've heard the yamaha filters are better. Somebody on here said their mechanic had 2 of them cut apart and the yamaha had a good bit bigger surface area.

Maybe it does but I change mine out before the filter will get clogged anyway. For me its more for the water separation.

    Re: (Big J Mac)

Racor sells one that screws right on the yamaha housing, and it has a clear bowl on the bottom of it so you can see if you are starting to get any solids, or water to the filter. Has a valve on the bowl to drain it also.

The clear bowl is not disposable, so you just screw it off the bottom of old filter, and put it on your new one. Costs a little more up front, but atleast you can see what's going on, and head off any trouble before it bites you....Just FYI

    Re: (Big J Mac)

I was told that the clear bowl type is illegal to mount inside of any compartment because of the plastic cracking and starting a fire in an inclosed area..It makes sense because if for some reason the batteries spark and the bowl can get cracked from something shifting around and hitting it during trailering or whenever that could cause a fire.I wanted to put one in mine but I went with the other one for this reason.Mine is mounted inside the rear compartment.Racor makes one with a metal bowl also.
