I have a 2006 F90TJR, that I have owned since new. Last fall I had an issue with it cutting out on me almost like you cut the power momentarily, if you reduced the throttle it would run for a while and then cut out again...reduce the power and it would then run fine again until eventually you were out of power and then it would quit. After examination I found the oil smelling of fuel. First set of repairs I changed the oil and filter and pulled the fuel filter and water separator filters. I found the filter after the lower pressure fuel pump fairly restricted, when I cut it open there was nothing inside, so I chalked it up as collapsing on itself and restricting the motor. I changed out the filter for a generic inline as that was all that was available at the time. Three trips to the river after that were all fine, no more cutting out, but fourth trip I noticed a little different sound from the motor and pulled the dipstick, almost an inch and a half over full, runny, and fuel of fuel. (When I service my motor I only fill the oil to the middle of the cross hatched area) I have removed the low pressure fuel pump, blocked the line and pumped it up and let sit for hours and did not see any leaks from it. Fuel pressure regulator holds vacuum indefinitely, and no fuel present in vacuum line to regulator. I did notice that the vacuum line to the canister on the port labeled "T" did have raw gas in it when I had the issue last. This line was dry when I got home though. I have ordered a VST needle and a low pressure fuel pump assembly, but now I am just throwing parts at it. Any help is greatly appreciated as there is no certified Yamaha mechanics in my state and my local dealer didn't even know where the fuel filter was. Also I run this boat on a shallow water river and being miles down stream of a landing without a motor, makes for a very long day. Thanks
