I need to get a new lower unit for my 200 ProV. As I have been looking around I see a lot of options and price ranges. There are aftermarket units available for under $800 and rebuilt OEM units for $1200 - $2000. Has anybody had experience with the aftermarket ones? Pros and cons?
The shop that I work for we tend to steer the customer into buying a new OEM lower unit or a remaned OEM. No experience w/ the aftermaket lowerunits. The good thing is that no matter your decision all are backed by warranties and have yet to see any customer dissatisfied.
Ive used SEI a few times for my boats and friends and never been unsatisfied so far,,,but other ppl have had small issues that i think was resolved ,theres some more threads about them on here somewhere
