    raiseing jackplate HELP

    I have a 130 yamaha on the back of a 16 ft NorrisCraft with a 6inc jackplate. I was woundering since it is all the way down if i should raise it up some if it would do any better with my speed. Im running 54mph right now as it is. What should i do?

    if you have a water pressure gauge, you can move it up and try it until it suits you. only concern is loosing substantial water pressure.

    I would measure the pad to center line of the gearcase first and see what the height is before I start screwing with it and make sure I have a water pressure gauge.
