I changed my lower unit oil today, and I put about 3/4 of a quart in it and never saw it come out of the top oil level hole. I wasted about 1/4 of the quart before I figured out how to pump it in, but I thought I'd have enough. How much oil does it hold?
A little more than you have in there. When it's full it will run out of the top hole, should be just a little less than a quart.
