200VMax ox66?

I have an 06 200 VMAX model ox66 (no hotfoot)... It has been a good motor so far runs strong to 5800 RPM with no problem good speeds. My issue is with idle... it sputters around at about 1k and unless I hammer the throttle it will just sputter and not get the hull out of the water if I do ease into the throttle. If I back off let it clear out then lay the throttle down, she planes out quick, real quick and never misses a beat. Why is this? I changed the plugs so I know they are good, I use yamalube and ring free with stabile and the ocassional bottle of seafoam. What else can I adjust or change to try and get a smoother idle and takeoff through the whole range of RPMs?

I'm not an expert, but you may want to check or change your fuel pumps if you haven't changed them in a while. I believe that you can check them to see if they are bad as well before changing them. I believe that there is a sticky at the top of the page that talks about fuel pumps.
