Problemn ProV 200

1993 ProV 200 never had the first problem started it up this morning off the trailer and had NO POWER at all, was fishing a classic so went ahead and fished but could only go at an idle speed all day no matter if the throttle was wide open or not, motor back fires all the time while running, while sitting in neutral at idle it will backfire and die......... ANY thoughts ???????

i had a similiar issue once.on my rig it wasnt getting full ignition due to the tether switch not being totally seated.i know it sounds odd but at the time there was a guy at the boat ramp that recognized the issue and told me to unplug and replug the cord and it worked!im assuming the last outing previuos to this it was good?

WOW who would of thunk of that ????? I took in to the shop and havent heard anything yet but lets you have the right answer there, it would be a shole lot cheaper than lets say a power head.......... thanks for your input
