150 Pro V Water pressure connection

I purchased an older Skeeter with a 150 ProV (1989) THe boat had a pressure guage in the dash but it was not connected to the motor. I looked for a place to connect it but could not find one so I tee'd it off the tell-tale line. Is this going to give me the proper readings? If not where is it supposed to be connected.
    Thanks

The tell tale line isn't a good place. There is a plug on the top of the motor (at least there is on my 91 pro v) for a WP guage fitting. The fitting kit can be purchased from a yammi dealer. It was fairly inexpensive too (10 or 12 bucks or something like that) and included the fitting gasket, hose barb fitting etc. Your dealer can also help you with the location of the plug. It was the easiest upgrade I did to mine.

The gauge may have been defective and disconnected, or it may work perfectly fine. I would connect a tube to the back of it and put some pressure on it and see if it moves. If not you may end up buying a new gauge anyway. If it's a Yamaha factory gauge, the fittings and tubing are metric. If its another brand the fittings and tubing are SAE and you'll need the metric-to-SAE adapter fitting that screws into the top of the port side cylinder bank hole. You'll see a 14mm bolt plug in that hole now. Either way its less than $100 for a new Yamaha gauge and hose kit. You'll have to snake the tubing from the console to the motor on your own.

The gauge works it reads 11 psi when it is tee'd into the tell-tale line. I see the connection spot you guys are talking about so I will get some parts and install it in the proper place. Thanks alot This is a great web site.
