I have a Yamaha vmax 200 that is getting noisier when putting it into gear. I am not mechanically inclined but would like to try to fix it myself. Is there an easy adjustment in the linkage somewhere?

What noise are you hearing, a grinding sound? I was taught many years ago to always put it in gear sharply.
I do put it into gear sharply. I guess I should define it as more of a clunk at times. It seems that it is slowly getting louder. Is there some kind of adjustment that I can make?
Definitely not an expert on this, but it might be time to replace lower unit lube...Maybe.
