    hydraulic steering question

I have a 2002 225 Ox66 with Sea Star hydraulic steering. I noticed there is some play in the steering--if I grad the back of the motor, I can shake it back and forth about 1/2" each direction. I checked the steering linkage and everything seems tight. A few questions:
    1. how do I bleed the air out of the system
    2. when taking the plug out of the top of the steering column, how much oil should there be and how do you measure
    3. if I need to add oil, what type is recommended

    Thanks guys..

    Re: hydraulic steering question (dolson)

Have someone keep filling the helm and turn the wheel as you crack the bleeders on the steering in the back. Turn the wheel one way and tighten the bleeder up just like bleeding brakes. Put a clear hose on the bleeder nipple to fill up the empty bottle.... Then do the other side the same way... You may need a seal kit like I did. It was cheap and easy to install. I bought mine from Clarence Cherry at 1-843-833-3998 or seastarsteering@hotmail.com

It's easy once you do it.
