    Fuel Pump ???

Good evening to all, I have a 1991 Evinrude 70 hp outboard (E70TLEIE). I am looking for a fuel pump and have some questions about this. First, my boat only has a 12 gallon fuel tank so mixing my gas/oil is not a problem. I am looking to disconnect the VRO system and need some help on the proper way on doing this. Second, I am trying to get a fuel pump rebuild kit for my motor and I am not having any luck finding one. This may sound stupid but is the VRO pump and the fuel pump the same thing? I am new to outboard motor repair so any help you guys or gals can provide is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Brad

    Re: Fuel Pump ??? (b-radjessen)

The OMS (fuel oil pump) part number is 5004558.

The the VRO pump and the fuel pump are the same thing, to disconnect the oil side of the pump you must remove the oil line from the oil side of the pump, you must disconnect the 3 or 4 wire connector from the pump and you must disconnect the two wires from the oil tank sender.

This will disable the oil side and the fuel pump will still work....Don't Forget to mix oil with the fuel 50:1......1 pint of BRP oil to 6 gallons of gas.
