I have a 2005 HP E-tec. This past fall I had the overheat alarm go off 3 times. Every time it happened, I had been going slow (5mph or less for @ 20 minutes) in a long no wake zone.
Mechanic says everything checks out and everything in the lower unit looks brand new. He suggested that my motor was a little low and this might cause some funky hydraulics/cavitation which could cause air to be drawn to the engine?
Do I ignore this if it happens again in the same circumstances?
Are there any warranty repercussions now that I've been given a clean bill of health?
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Could this be a trim issue?
