New Yamaha, buzzer went off today ...

    Hello to everyone,

I was on the lake this morning still under break in rules and I started to run and slowly started accelarating and trimming up. I reached about 5000 rpm's and a warning buzzer went off. Right before it went off a saw my water pressure gauge suddenly drop. Oil level was fine, right between the two lines on the tank. Wasn't overheating (whats the normal temp anyway, curious?). When I got home and checked the manual and said could be a number of things, oil level, uneven ditribution on the boat (weird), water in fuel. Any help for me ? Thanks !

Did the water pressure drop and stay down??? IF so then thats your problem, also did you check the oil tank on the motor???

You reached 5000 just taking off during break in? Was the prop slipping at that rpm? How fast were you goin at 5000 rpm? Were you possibly trimming way to high to fast and got a quick over heat due to this?

Sounds to me you picked up a plastic bag on your water intake. Check on motor fuel filter to see if you have water in it. Enrico
