I have a 2000, 200hp opti. Fished a club tournament yesterday and motor ran great all day. Started to landing and I was taching 6000rpm at 54mph. It has never tached 6000rpm (still had some throttle left).

Look at the back of the tach.
There's likely a small "adjustment pot" switch there.
MAKE NOTE of the CURRENT POSITION (important).
With a small, flatblade screwdriver, rotate the switch one or two positions in each direction (DO NOT rotate the switch all the way around, or beyond it's highest/lowest position as it may damage the tach).
Return the switch to it's original position.
See if this doesn't solve the problem.![]()
