I have a 2008 Mercury 250 Pro XS. When running the motor it will run fine for a little bit. Then sometimes when I am running at full throttle (around 5800 to 5900 RPMs) it will get back to 5200 RPMs and will stick there for a bit. Then it will cut loose and take off again. Its almost like there is a miss in the motor. Has anyone else had this problem or know what may be wrong.
Replace your fuel lines. My nephew's boat did the same thing and the inside of the lines had separated and was getting sucked flat.
Get the engine in to your local Mercury Authorized Dealer.
Ask them to reference Service Bulletin 2009-026.
