BIG THANKS DON! INSTALL IS COMPLETE

Thanks to Don at European Marine for the parts order and fast delivery. Ordered on Monday, Don ordered the parts from Mercury, and I received them Thursday. Got everything installed today. Thanks also for the detailed instructions. Here is a picture of the Merc Monitor and the System link gauges. Very cool, needles on gauges light up red.

Mercury should make the monitor standard equipment with an Opti.

"Smartcraft Instrument Installed and Properly Configured" is actually on the PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) form that dealers are supposed to complete at delivery of the engine.

Unfortunately... Smartcraft is often one of the "shortcuts" taken to make the deal more attractive.

BTW- Jerry: Looks great! Hope you find the time to fish a bit (in between playing with all the screens and features).

The merc monitor lights up red to match the gauges. It looks like yellow in the picture. The merc monitor also exports data to the lowrance unit. You can display any of the gauge functions on your lowrance as an overlay.
