    Head casting number???'s

I'm working on doing the Killr Bee 3.0 mods on my 2001 225 EFI OT264057.

My original heads have casting number 812851-C11. I picked up a spare set of 812551-C2 heads. I picked up the spares so I could send them out to MAD EFI to get cut.

What's the difference between the two and which ones should I have cut?

812851-C11.... this one appears to be a 300 ProMax head.

I don't have any info on the other casting number.... unless it's actually 812851C2 (which would be an earlier 225/250 EFI cylinder head).

Your right 812851c2 is what I meant.

How did my stock 225 EFI end up with 300pm heads? There is no sign of the heads being swapped out and there is even a serial number sticker seal across where the block and head meet?

Good question.... and honestly, one I do not have an answer for.

Have you owned the engine SINCE NEW? It is possible (sometimes) to transfer the tag from one head to another, and repaint.

Do you want to sell the spare set after you get yours squared away?

I am the second owner, and anything is possible. Looking over the motor very carefully there is no sign any bolts being removed or tampering at all.
I did read over on Screan And Fly forum something about 2001 up 225 releif port blocks running C11 heads from the factory. Also when I bought the boat I did a compression test and I remember reading 115-120 psi so it's probably not a 300PM block as those numbers should be higher.

If anybody with a 2001 or newer 225 EFI can see what they have for cylinder head casting numbers I would appreciate it.

Just as an FYI... it's a pretty common "mod" to put 300 ProMax heads on the 3L EFI powerhead... and if they're installed with new bolts, and painted well, there would be no discernable external sign of it being done (other than the casting numbers).
