    Reed Update

Finally installed my Boyesen's this last weekend. Not hard to do, but time consuming because this was my first time and I went slow making sure everything was correct from resurfacing the reed cages to lining up the reed edges, etc. Took it out Monday to water test: idle is much smoother than stock reeds, midrange might be slightly better and topend hit new speed of 75.0 on gps. New top speed may be due to lowering the motor a 1/4 inch (running 26 Fury), light fuel load, cool air temps and perfect water ripple. Filled livewells to the rim and still got to 72. Very happy with results. Can't imagine what a 250ProXS would do on my rig!

I installed the same ones on my 225 opti and my hole shot was slightly better due to better throttle responce and mid range was the big differance. My top speed stayed the same

For those of you "outside" of warranty.... we've got some Fiber reeds in testing right now that are showing "promise". They're designed and flowed to PRECISELY match the OEM reeds airflow characteristics.

Glad to hear you got it back together.... and if you had broken reeds previously, you probably have seen a SUBSTANTIAL improvement... even with the Boyeson's.

Don, If I have any future issues with the Boyesen's I'll contact you for the ones you were talking about. I'm interested in hearing about the on the water results when you install some. Please keep us informed as always and thanks again for the great amount of help you provide. If it weren't for this site with it's forums of knowledgeable pros like you, I would know zero about my how my motor is supposed to work or be cared for.
