Where are the Evinrudes in Okalhoma?

Just got back from the Midwest Rally in Oklahoma. Between the Rally and the Oklahoma state championship there were about 100 boats there. THREE Evinrudes! There were so many Mercury Motors I thought I was at a Mercury Rally.

Not to worry. It just means BRP can only increase in market share. Here in MD, most boats have Yammy's hanging off the back.

Good thing those 5year yammy contracts are up for the boat builders. Now they will have choices. Have you noticed if Brunswick ownes the boat companys those motors were on. Just wondering. I know in this area if you see its a merc it's on a brunswick owned boat line. I can't wait to see whats going to happen at this years boat shows.

I have a new Lund (Brunswick) powered by a 150 E-tec. The dealer was told to drop his Evinrude line or lose his Lund franchise. He called their bluff and now sells all his boats with Evinrude power.

Awsome, he must be rigging them himself. We had a boat line a few years ago that only rigged suzuki. We brought them in blank & rigged them all with J&E engines.

My dealer droppped Lund and now sells Alumacraft...He's been a Lund/'Rude dealer for 27 years. He HATES the black motors. I do love my Lund/E Tec combo---glad I bought when I did.

I am also very pleased with mine. I have the boat at max hp (150) and an 8 hp Honda kicker and am still way under the allowable weight on the transom.
The dealer closest to me also had to drop Lund after 25 years in order to stay with Evinrude. He also went to Alumacraft even though he still is a Merc dealer. The only problem I'm having now is nobody will give me service because I didn't buy from them.
