Need some help please (river flow)

    http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.m...t.txt

If you click on the link, you can see the release rates, and forcast release rates.
Trying to figure out what this means for Dardanelle Pool.
The Ozark Dam "should" maintain as steady release rate (150k). At least thru Fri.
The Dard Dam will be maintaining a steady rate also (153k).

Since More water is leaving than coming in, the Dard pool should be "steadily" dropping?
    Is this correct?
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........

Problem is - between Muskogee OK and Tulsa, the river flow grows from 26K cfs to 107K cfs. It further increases with additional inflow from the tributaries. This is the water that's coming down. Evidently the two major watershed lakes (Grand Lake and Lake of the Cherokee) in OK are high again and that excess water is entering the river above Tulsa. Until the dams above us drop well below 70K - our flow is going to remain high. I think they're limiting the flow down to minimize impact on the barge traffic, and have no real concern for small craft.

A couple of weeks ago, they were able to drop over 100K cfs out of the river in less than a week. This eliminated the barges but prevented flooding upriver. Now that the flow is less than 200 - I doubt the Corps of Engineers will get in a big hurry to take down the excess.

If that was the only water coming into the lake you would be correct. The problem is that there also creeks that feed into Lake Dardanelle. I am sure that the water that is coming from the creeks would total more than the 3000CFS difference. I would think that it would be staying at the same level or rising slightly.

    Hope this helps.

    try

    http://ahps.srh.noaa.gov/index.php?wfo=lzk

click on the dam or pool you want to see and it will give you a forecast of if it is to fall or rise and the estimated flow on that day goes 7 days out i believe.
