    08 200 Opti Problem

Fished a tournament today and experienced some problems from the start. Engine bogged down and was very difficult to get on plane. Engine was obviously "missing" and just didn't sound right. Later in the day it would get on plane a little easier, but clearly there is an issue somewhere. You can hear a clicking type noise from the motor when running around 2500 RPM. MercMonitor is not alarming or giving any warnings. I thought maybe a fouled plug, or maybe bad fuel. Anyone have a similar problem? Motor only has about 37 hours.

    Thanks

Bad coil, fouled plug or broken reed most likely.

Have exact same engine and year. I have had coils go out and now fuel rail gone bad!! I also have had the air compressor (leaking oil) and head gasket (dribbeling water) replaced under warrenty with less then 100 hours!!! I baby this engine and do everything I am suppose to, but I am not very happy with Mercury!! I hope your luck will be better then mine!!

+1 ... or perhaps even a spark plug wire not properly connected (or damaged).
