    water pressure change

Motor is 2006 225 proxs. Water pressuer used to be 25 lbs. at 5800 rpm. Now it is 15 or so, 8 or 10 at 4k rpm. Changed water pump and it did seem to help and keep more press at middle rpm's. WOT pressure is still lower than when new. According to specs this pressre is ok, but why the change? Any ideas thanks. Also were is the poppet valve? To remove thnermostats do you lossen the fuel rail or just remove the fuel line?

Any change in your setup (prop, mounting height, jackplate height, BOAT WEIGHT... equipment at front of boat changed, etc)? Something as small as a trolling motor change can have a drastic affect....

To access the Poppet Valve, remove the STARBOARD side lower cowling. Poppet valve is attached to the adapter plate with two screws (located below the PCM or computer).

Thermostat removal is made possible by loosening, and sliding the fuel rails away from the engine. Care and caution MUST be taken to relieve fuel pressure (via schrader valve on STARBOARD RAIL) prior to loosening the rails. Always lubricate the o-rings on the top of the direct injectors, and be EXTREMELY careful when re-installing the rails onto the Direct Injectors, so as not to break them, or damage the o-rings.

    Re: water pressure change (EuropeanAM)

Checked thermostats, everything ok. I went to a Fury prop, maybe this could be the diff. I might lower motor 1/4 or so see if midrange pressure comes back.
