Does the Pro250XS have more take off speed than the Yamaha 300HPDI

Okay ... I just need to buy the boat now but I have one more issue... THE MOTOR!

Not interested in resale or tournaments so I wanted a 300 HP... the Mercury 300ProXS is out because of terrible warranty and price of the warranty. I was now considering the 300 HPDI Yamaha or the Mercury 250 ProXS. Which will have the fastest take-off and best top-speed? I would like a fast take off and speeds in the low to mid 70's.

The Yamaha will typically have more low end torque, and the Merc will have more top. Although you really cant go wrong with either. The hammer will drink more gas and oil. Both are easily "fixed" for their shortcomings i.e.; Hydro-Tec or Simon Motorsports.

Can't really speak for the HPDI.... but I can't think of too many hulls that WON'T get into the low to mid 70's with a 250 ProXS.

And coupled to the right prop- low end torque (and holeshot) can be quite impressive on the 250 ProXS.
