    Winterizing a 225X

    Hey Jay:

Unfortunately the boating season is over here in PA. I was wondering what you would do to winterize one of these motors?

I will be changing the fuel filter, the water seperating filter, and gear oil. What would you run through the motor (ie seafoam, startron) etc?

Could you winterize it like a 280 and spray fogging oil in the intake or does this one have sensors that will screw it up? And I should spray fogging oil in the cylinders when done correct?

    Thanks for the help.

I'd mix up a brew of rich 2 cycle oil and the ethanol treatmentalong with sea foam on top of your regular oiler system. Then when the fuel was getting low I'd choke it dead...Fogging is also good BUT go through the intake if you want the crank and bearings lubed , going through the spark plugs holes opnly protects the bores..
