    Gas milage?

What kinda milage you fellers really getting towing a Boat? My old Mule didnt do to bad when I 1st got it......it would average arouns 13/14 dpending on hills/wind and suck.........Just figured my gas Milage on the Yukon and is getting almost right at 13mpg towing the boat through Hills at 60-65MPH......Also this was done with Tranny left in 3rd Gear at 2500 RPM.....the RPM's did not flex much at all even on hills......only remember a couple times the tranny kicking down hard to pull a hill at around 3k Rpm but didnt do it much.

Havnt been able to get a Good rating unloaded yet but hope to go somewhere soon.........Still need to put a set of plugs in it, Run some 44K through her and change oil to Synthetic and we'll see what she can do............proabably womt be much though

    Re: Gas milage? (tritonryan)

His prob has the 3.92 gears.......some tard ordered mine with 3.55 when they bought it new my 4.7 that i had in my last 04 had 3.92 in it and got 12-13 with the boat but got 14-15 empty......the HEMI tends to like the RPMs on big hills and will suck the juice down bad then if its flat highway its not as bad but the hills and the heavy boat kill the mileage

    Re: Gas milage? (tritonryan)

My ole Ford averages about 12/13 empty and about 10/12 towing the boat.
but it must say that i drive 10/20mph slower when towing the boat.

My normal highway speed unloaded is 75to 80, towing the boat i keep it down to 65-70..

I get practically the same weather I'm pulling the boat or not 12-13 highway, may have something to do with being all time 4 wheel drive? Plus I got a small boat too I guess

I drive an 02 Ford Explorer w/4.6 L V8. I get about 16-17 MPG on Hwy. Pulling the boat I get about 12-13 MPG. When running the A/C pulling the boat I think I only get 10-11 MPG. I didn't realize the A/C pulled it down that much anymore.

Usually around 10 pulling the boat, 11 if I drive easy, but I see 9 more than 11...

Not towing on the highway I can push 17...
