they keep hanging around here there going to be.... i want to get one close enough to swat with that 17HMR.. if the winds not blowing 100 yards will do .. but if that wind is blowing , he needs to be a little bit closer... don't take much wind to blow of that 17 gr bullet off...

I have a 17 HMR I use for feral cats around here and also when I see one in a road side ditch while hunting. Does a number on them.

Your right. A little wind is a bad thing for the little .17.

You need to get out and try to call a few in. Sounds like they are hungry!

That reminds me. My neighbor drug a dead calf out back of the house in the pasture. Wish I was gonna be home!!! It will be gone by thursday......

that 17 HMR is a wonderful little gun for strays,, i love it for feeding the cats,, great for blue jays, starlings, woodpeckers, and sparrows... little pricey to shoot birds with ,,but i love shooting it.. have a custom built 12/22 thumb hole stock. that's a great shooter but i don't want to bang the stock up

I guess I don't quite understand the thought process here? Are cats decimating the wildlife in your neighborhood?

If I see a cat that obvisously does not belong to anyone then it turns into a dead cat. Feral cats are hell on quail and pheasants.
