Gas tank selector switch 201 Pro

The gas tank selector switch (mounted on the transom) on my 95 201 pro XL is cracked and leaking. Is there any thing wrong with replacing it with a brass T ? Will it draw from both tanks evenly, and what if one tank has less gas than the other? Any other concerns with doing this? I have a 95 225 Vindicator on the 201.

I dont think the T will work unless you completely switch from one to the other. I dont think it can pull from both at the same time. Maybe Fred or John can expand on the reasons. I have heard of some using a exlectric solenoid type to switch with but dont think non switching T will work. Bu tthen again I could be wrong.

I'm with Kerry.....you can't pull from two tanks at once with that setup. It could be done, bit the plumbing would have to be routed differently to avoid a vacuum locking situation and loss of fuel flow. Call Stratos and tell them your problem. They have been very good at either providing replacement parts for the older rigs, or directing you in the right direction. I have a friend with a 1988 boat that has got a lot of help from them.

Thanks guys. I ordered a new one from T&H marine. they make them for Stratos. I did call Stratos and they said they were out of stock and it would be 2-3 weeks to order one. I got the Stratos and T&H part # if any one else needs one. $25.37
