    Ky Bass Federation

For the 2012 Season the KBF decided to alter its qualifying format. Each of the 4 regions will host 4 qualifying tournaments. To qualify for the state championship, you must either win or place second in any of the tournaments OR fish ANY 4 of the 16 tournaments listed. The state championship location will be determined by the region with the most participation.

Also no meetings. Just show up at the ramp with your KBF dues $67 (includes FLW membership) & entry fee (I belive its $75 for boater & $50 for non). Pairing & boat numbers will be determined on 1st come 1st serve basis, but if you bring a boat, you'll use it. No boater-boater draws. For more info gimme a holler.

    Correction $75 for boaters, $50 for non-boaters.

Can you link up with a co in this series or is it strictly a draw series?

These are draw tournaments, just like BFL or weekend series but smaller scale.

Per a deal between the Federation & FLW, the fees are standard $67. If you're already FLW member, FLW will extend you're membership another year.

    Re: (UkCatsBasser)

Are you fishing the TBF college tournaments? Not sure the KBF has had this question before. Tim's answer above is if you have an FLW membership but not a TBF membership. To have a TBF membership, most people have to choose a state federation I thought. Not sure if you will owe $67, I'll try to find out.

To answer your other question, yeah just show up at the ramp the morning of the tournament. Registration will end 30 minutes before the posted start time of the tournament. After registration closes, the non-boaters will draw numbers to see who they're paired with.

For some reason I thought my FLW (affiliated club) club dues included FLW membership (100% sure) and TBF membership and $2 went to the KY state federation.

If you're already in a club that is affiliated with KBF, then you should be covered. Just show up and pay the entry fee for the tournament.

    Re: Ky Bass Federation (Bigtim68)

I am pretty excited about fishing these events. I plan on fishing as a boater.

After doing some research it says the Ky state Championship is on September 21-23. But the past results show that the tournaments are 2 day events. I am assuming that there is just a meeting on friday night. Am i correct in assuming this?

Another question I have is about the divisional. It seems that the Southern Division will be held in Spring 2013 and in the State on Tennessee. Any idea where and when that is going to be??

    Re: Ky Bass Federation (RoughThumbBG)

You're right about the State Championship. There is an end of the year banquet and pre-tournament meeting on Friday night then the tournament is Saturday and Sunday. Also, I don't know where in TN the Southen Divisional will be but it is usually the first full week in June. May vary slightly, but it has been somewhere around there for a number of years.

    Re: Ky Bass Federation (RoughThumbBG)

The state championship is a 2 day event (Sat & Sun) with a Friday night banquet & meeting.

I dont think the location for the Southern divisional has been announced yet, but they rarely do announce this early. As far as timing its always the first couple weeks in June.

If you know you're going to fish one of our tournaments, you can pre-pay your yearly membership by sending a check for $67 to KBF at President Cato's who address is listed on the website. But you have to send it a week before the tournament you want to fish. This will help cut down some of the paperwork in the morning at tournaments.

This is a fun circuit with a good core group of guys. Anyone coming to fish a region 2 tournament, make sure ya come and introduce yourself, as I will be helping to run these.
also keep in mind that tournament entry fees are cash.

Im hoping to fish these as a co angler. another good circuit to fish espicially if you are already a member of an FLW club then you just pay the entree fee. Cant beat that!

    Re: Ky Bass Federation (RoughThumbBG)

I just realized that this Ky state championship is the same weekend as the BLF super tournament on Barren, Sept. 22 and 23. That is a bummer, but hopefully I can still make the BFL regional just fishing 4 events as a co-angler.

I don't think is going to stop me from fishing the KBF as a boater.
