135" 10 point killed with bow on opeing day of gun season
Melbourne is in NKY, I havent gun hunted in over 10 years. I just prefer to bow hunt. I missed a 150" buck earlier in the week and passed on a 140 class 8 point the week before, but i figured I was running out of time and he was chasing a doe along with another 1.5 old 8 point. I had to make a quick decision, so I let the arrow fly!

Congrats on a nice deer. I also bowhunted opening weekend but I saw a monster about 250yds. out chasing a doe and would not come in. I have had my rifle out since. Its tough bowhunting when they are chasing does. Excellant job.
i also bowhunt only. opening morning of rifle season had a 125 class 8pt come just out of range. wasn't dissappointed at all, i enjoy the hunt with the bow...

I know the gun guys will hate me but if Ky would only wait till the 3rd weekend to start gun season and only have a 14 day guns season we could have alot more quality deer here in KY. Look at all the states that are know for quality deer, Illinois Iowa, Kansas and Ohio all have later gun seasons or 3 day early gun seasons.
After takin up bow huntin I gave up rifle all together, just changed the challenge of it, made it more fun. Deer huntin is like chasin women, the hunt is 10 times greater than the kill.

I know what ya mean there Kyle.I feel like I have as good of a chance at killing a shooter buck with my gun as most do with there rifle. Most everyone I know lay off the weekend and week before gun season and take off work during gun season. I have always said, you have a better chance of shooting a book buck with a bow the week before gun season then with a gun during gun season.

Good looking deer there Richie, i heard today that there was a world record killed in Southern Ill yesterday with a bow.
Thats the word Rodney, I am checking my Industry sources about that right now, Got a call in to Mark Drury and Steve Stoltz. Go to Kisky.com and click on Forums, this is the best website for finding out whats going on the the Big Buck world. Ill let you all know if I hear anything. I know it was said to be killed in Infamous Pike Co.
