need to know whats going on...cause I pretty much suck right now

you and me both brotha and I live here, had a decent day on barkley on channel banks saturday but the fish had jump off-itis, smallmouth were up and HUNGRY and had some good LM with them. And then sunday I don't know where they went but they were gone. And with this cold front you can bet things are royally effed up. I'm glad I'm taking a few weeks off to let the fall pattern set up a little. I know three weeks ago alot of shad were moving shallow on barkley, moreso than KY but the heat wave pulled them back out. Now KY had some resident shallow fish b/c of the grass but the shad were behind on KY vs barkley. But with this cold front all bets are off, who the heck knows right now. If you can find a school of deep fish you were money for the last two weeks but I don't know if they will hold now or not. On barkley I just don't know how many fish go super shallow, at least on the north end, there just doesn't seem to be enough cover to hold a ton of shallow fish. So basically, I suck and am no help All I can tell you is FIND THE GIZZARD SHAD! IM sent

The most consistant bite I have had since I returned from my trout fishing trip last weekend has been on the ledges. Getting bit on pretty much any ledge I hit this week on either lake. That heat wave last week took its toll on the shallow water bite but the water is cooling pretty fast...down two degrees yesterday. Still plenty of young threadfin shallow on both lakes but bigger shad still out but expect that will change pretty quick with the water cooling down.
