Throw your hand up and wave

Time for me to vent a little

Yesterday while I was up in a creek I had 3 different boats come within 30 yards of me and every time they were running up on the pad only to slow down to about 2500 rpm when they came buy they would smile and throw there hand up and wave like they were doing the right thing. All three of the boats were being operated buy older gentlemen that were out crappie fishin. Now I know they have just as much right to be on the water as me but I wish they would realize buy slowing down they are just letting the transom of the boat set deeper in the water causing a bigger wake. The best way to go buy some one fishing is at idle 700 rpm or at 5700rpm.That's right I said 5700 because the wake is smaller at wide open throttle than at 2500rpm. If it is a tight spot I always idle buy but if there is enough room I keep it up on the pad. I have read and heard reports on how uncuritious bass fishermen are but most of my complaints are with the smaller boats. I guess they think since I am in a 19ft fiberglass boat that a three foot tall wake wont rock the boat. Now dont believe I am here just to bash smaller boats because on tournament day they are alot af bass boats that are uncuritious also but most of the time it is the smaller boats that will throw thier wake all over you. So just everyone remember (me included) to watch your wake.

Sorry for such a long post but this was just building up inside a I had to let it out.

I know what ya mean. It is really just ignorance, like the other day when me and Doc were fishing some steel beams on a bridge and this whole area is 20 feet wide. We started on one end and were working our way to the other when this pontoon pulls in 20 feet ahead of us and ties the friggin thing to the beams we're fishing! I just don't get some folks.

It's amazing that many folks don't know that slowing down creates a much larger wake than running on pad. If they feel that they need to slow down, then why don't they slow down to no wake speed and idle by?
