New gearcase on 06 etec

I tore my foot up a week ago and it is getting replaced with the new 2012 gearcase. It is a high-performing SLE (Straight Leading Edge) gearcase with nose-cone pick-ups that significantly increases water flow to the engine and provides increased cooling ability and capacity. High-quality gears with super pure, extra-tough metallurgy. And stiffer engine mounts for superior handling and control at high speeds.

My question is is it going to be faster?? Also I am running a 26 raker 2. Will I have to change props because of the bigger gears?

You didn't tell us which engine?

If you have a lightning gearcase, it may a few mph slower.

The M2 will have much more water pressure so be sure to get the new muffler and exhaust assembly with it so the old one will not blow off and ruin your motor by water ingestion.

If you had a lightning gearcase there wont be a question about losing a few MPH it will just happen(no it will not be faster)! Other then that just what seahorse said

200 e-tec HO. The mechanic told me he had to put a new water pump on it. He also said that I will probably need a bigger prop. Right now I am running a tr196 with the 26 raker 2, hydro jack plate and getting 72 to 74

Your gear ratio is the same on the 200hp motor so prop size shouldnt be an issue! He prolly put a new impeller on it but you need to make sure what seahorse said was done or you could have engine damage!
