    busted bearing and trailering question....help!

So I blew a bearing today, and I'm still 500 miles from home!

After a whole mess of problems, which I won't go into detail about, I find myself in a motel for the night, I have the wheel off, and am now looking at my options....

I've been told I can drive with one wheel of the tandem axle off. Is this true? Any comments on this? the disk is only about 4 inches from the ground...

The trailer is for an '07 ranger z21...dual axle, brakes on both axles.

If I can find a place open tomorrow does anyone have the specs for a new bearing? Can a standard grease bearing be used in lieu of the oil bath style?

    Any tips/advice are greatly welcomed!

You can drive a tandem on one wheel on a side. You'll need a ratchet strap to hold the empty axle end up on that side so the axle with the tire will carry the weight.

Obviously would be better if you fixed it before hauling 500 miles.

Maybe post something in The Lounge with your location to see if there is somebody near you who could help you out. Also post in the Ranger board to get specifics on the parts.

    Good Luck!

Looking at your web site, I assume you are on your way home from Kentucky Lake. Post in the OH/IN/KY/TN board with your location as well. Very heavily populated with BBC members all the way to the border in this area.

Thanks Catfan, I did repost in the lounge.
