    Trailer Bunk question

How long should trailer bunks last? Has anyone ever replaced them? Any problems? Have a skeeter boat and the bunks are getting preety rough. Thanks for any pointers

    Re: Trailer Bunk question (CoopDVille)

    Mine lasted 7 years.

They could have gone a couple more, but the carpet was getting worn.

I bought bunk carpet from Cabela's, built all 4 bunks up in the driveway and replaced them on a weekday at the ramp.

I used some contact cement to glue down the top and sides of the carpet, then used some stainless staples on the bottom. (air compressor/tacking gun makes that way easier)

Leave a 3/4 to 1 inch strip open on the bottom of the bunk to help it dry out.
Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day

Teach a man to fish, he will complain that you stole his fishing spot.
